A progress report on the ongoing implementation actions committed to by the State in response to the 67 recommendations made by the 2009 Victorian Bushfires Royal Commission following from the 2011 Progress Report and 2012 Final Report.

A review to improve fire service knowledge and service delivery. Due to the nature of the fire and fuel reduction burning in the area, this provided an opportunity to review the efficacy of fuel management programs.

An examination of the adequacy of strategic and operational planning within CFA and SES to identify and address volunteer workforce capacity and requirements, including recruitment, retention and support. The report found that addressing these issues is critical to the long-term sustainability of these emergency services agencies.

A report into the results of a state-level emergency risk assessment conducted in Victoria, it contains information about a range of important emergency-related risks, and a comparison of their severity relative to each other.

A review that considered community concerns relating to the management of the incident, this report set out a set of strategic actions to improve fire management in these communities such as Initial Attack / utilisation of resources, Road Traffic Management and community involvement in fire preparedness, response and recovery.

A progress report on the implementation of identified actions prepared for the Emergency Management Commissioner and the emergency management sector in response to the significant 2013-14 fire season. Comprised of three reports, it identified opportunities for improvement through specific actions for sector.

An audit to assess how ICT systems and processes are used to deliver an emergency service response in Victoria. The audit found what worked well and what areas could improve about ESTA, Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria and CFA ICT systems and capacities.

After the January 2014 heatwave, the Victorian Auditor-General's Office investigated whether applying the then Department of Health's heatwave framework was effective in reducing the impact of extreme heat on public health. The report includes a comparative analysis with the outcomes from the 2009 January heatwave, outlines VAGO's findings and associated recommendations

An investigation of a fire resulting from a planned burn that broke containment lines, this report recommended improvements to the planned burning systems and processes of DELWP. The new direction, to be implemented over the next five years sought to ensure that fire and land managers and community work as one to reduce bushfire risk.
