An audit conducted to provide assurance that human biosecurity for international air travellers has been managed effectively, the Auditor-General made six recommendations to improve governance arrangements and ensure that departmental systems for traveller processing adequately support human health outcomes.

The Shaping Victoria’s Biosecurity Future workshop held on 17 and 18 June 2021 brought together experts from industry, community and government to identify opportunities to strengthen Victoria’s biosecurity system. The ‘What was said’ Report shares insights from the conversations held during the workshop.

An identification of the elements of an effective health communication system, this report draws upon literature from COVID-19 and other pandemic or emergency responses and provides detailed recommendations for regions, governments and local implementers, including considerations for engagement with culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

A report into the ongoing impact of COVID-19 to Victoria's critical infrastructure sectors and the significant efforts of industry to minimise disruption and continue delivering services. It also captures a number of other significant events that occurred during the reporting period and reflects on the effectiveness of Victoria’s critical infrastructure resilience arrangements in an increasingly complex risk environment.

A review examining the adequacy of telecommunications services in regional, rural and remote Australia, it also considered particular issues including the impact of Government policies and programs, insights from the COVID-19 pandemic, emerging technologies, service reliability, regional development, and improving coordination between tiers of government.

This report presents the results of an inspection conducted by the Victorian Inspectorate of Victoria Police records under the Terrorism (Community Protection) Act 2003. The Inspectorate provides independent oversight of Police powers by conducting six-monthly inspections (where operational records are available) and reporting to Parliament as well as the Attorney General. The report makes four findings of non-compliance, and five recommendations.

A report into the current and future arrangements to secure environmental infrastructure - particularly parks and open space - for a growing population in Melbourne and across regional centres, its recommendations include addressing particular environmental infrastructure challenges such as climate change, bushfires and natural disasters.

An assessment of the Victorian Government’s progress in implementing commitments made in response to the Fiskville Inquiry, the report found one commitment is now complete and the other five remain in progress and will be reported on in the 2022 progress report.

IGEM’s sixth report as sole monitor on the progress of the implementation of recommendations and affirmations from the 2014 and 2015–16 Hazelwood Mine Fire Inquiry reports, it summarises implementation progress to August 2021, of the eight government actions and one recommendation directed to the Latrobe Valley coal mine operators that were reported as in progress in IGEM’s Progress Report 2020.
