An assessment of the changing condition of our natural environment across 12 themes: air quality, Antarctica, biodiversity, climate, coasts, extreme events, heritage, Indigenous, inland water, land, marine and urban. A committee of independent scientists and environmental experts authored the thematic chapters and contributed to the Overview report and were supported an Australian Government taskforce.

A review of the Pandemic (Quarantine, Isolation and Testing) Orders undertaken due to the significant burden experienced by Victorians having to quarantine or isolate due to contracting COVID-19 or being exposed to the virus. These Orders resulted in people experiencing temporary social isolation and exclusion as well as loss of their ability to go to work or school. The review found that it was important that the Committee ensured that the Orders balanced protecting public health as well as supporting the wellbeing of individuals in isolation.

A review of the Pandemic (Visitors to Hospitals and Care Facilities) Orders undertaken due to the considerable impact visitor restrictions have had on patients, residents of care facilities, and their loved ones. Restrictions on visiting a care facility were in place until June 2022, and it was only in April 2022 that restrictions under the pandemic orders were relaxed for hospital visitors. The review also considered the issues caused by the pandemic orders more generally finding that the way Victorian Government communicates pandemic orders and changes to orders should be improved.

A review that assessed Victoria’s Regional Forest Agreements (RFAs) in relation to the impacts of the 2019-20 bushfires. The review panel prepared a suite of 37 recommendations, identifying remedial actions for the Victorian and Australian governments to address the impacts of the bushfires on RFA regions.

An examination of the factors that make supply chains vulnerable, with a focus on international linkages and dependencies. The report developed a new approach to identify vulnerabilities to disruption, which it applied to Australian imports and exports, and considers strategies to manage risks and the circumstances under which government might intervene.

A report that makes recommendations for increasing the resilience of Melbourne’s food system to shocks and stresses related to climate change and pandemic, this roadmap was developed through a collaborative co-design process with stakeholders. It makes 4 overarching recommendations to support an integrated
