The Inspector-General for Emergency Management (IGEM) has prepared the Summary in accordance with the principles outlined in the Monitoring and Assurance Framework for Emergency Management drawing on and consolidating information collected through a range of sector-wide and system-level emergency management assurance activities.
Outcomes from such assurance activities provide evidence that increases the confidence of government and the community in the ability of the emergency management sector to plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies as well as highlight areas where improvements can be made.
The 'year in review' Summary does not make any recommendations or create any additional layers of reporting for sector organisations.
The Annual Assurance Summary 2015-16 was published on 16 August 2016.
